About the Festival

What is Sellersburg Celebrates?

SELLERSBURG CELEBRATES! is a fun filled weekend for the whole family. Filled with craft booths, festival rides, music, and more you won't want to miss out on the action during this free three day event.

Since 1990...

Sellersburg Celebrates began in 1990.  In the beginning, we started small with a group of community leaders local to Sellersburg.  We wanted to bring our community together in a way that we hadn't done before to celebrate Sellersburg centennial.  Over the past 30 years we have grown and become the festival you now know and love.

Residents of Sellersburg, Indiana and surrounding communities have been gathering at Sellersburg Celebrates! since 1990. Nestled within Silver Creek Township Park, the festival brings together families, friends, and neighbors for three days of community fun. Visitors can stroll through craft booths, enjoy live entertainment and carnival rides, sample local food vendors, and take part in activities for all ages.

Sellersburg Celebrates! is more than just a festival—it's a community tradition. It's a place where old friends reconnect, new friendships begin, and neighbors come together to celebrate everything that makes our community special. Whether you're returning for another year or visiting for the first time, you'll find a welcoming atmosphere, friendly faces, and plenty of opportunities to make lasting memories.

In Memory of...

Dedication. Expertise. Passion.

We honor the memory of these active committee members who made a lasting impact on the festival.  They will not be forgotten.

Betty Omicinski

July 20, 1936 ~ January 16, 2026

Balloon Glow Chair

With a quick wit that would set everyone into a fit of chuckles, Betty was charismatic in a way that made you feel like you were home with her. She had made Sellersburg her home for many decades and she cherished brining smiles to the faces of those at the festival. Betty and Frank McCrory were great friends and together the two made the balloon glow into a spectacular event that was cherished in our community. She was also a staple at the festival's luncheon taking tickets and greeting the many familiar faces that walked through the door. Loving and kind, she was also humble - never wanting to take a compliment she often told you to shush when you told her how proud you were of the job she had done. Betty, you will be missed, and we hope to continue to honor the legacy of the festival you helped build a foundation for.

Susan helped start the very first Sellersburg Celebrates! and she remained on the committee until her passing in 2021. Well respected in our community, she made it a point to never take no for an answer. Strong minded and ready to jump in and help anywhere she could. We hope to continue to make you proud, Susan. The parade now honors her memory with the "Susan Miller Presidential Award".

Ralph Spear

September 19, 1939 ~ September 10, 2024

Festival Electrician and Food Vendor Committee Chair

Often a man of few words but with a big love for his community, Ralph was respected by many of his peers. In the early days of the festival, Ralph was integral to laying out all the electric access inside the park where the event is held. Ensuring behind the scenes that nothing went awry, the festival was able to operate smoothly. Plus, Ralph knew good food! We always counted on him to bring us the best eats! In 2024 just before his passing, the committee honored him with the Lifetime Honorary Member Award to recognize all his hard work. Ralph's quiet and calm nature will be missed by many.

Balloon Glow Committee

Frank was the heart of our balloon glow for many years before his passing in 2019. Passionate about ballooning, he made many friends over his years piloting. He had been a staple of our festival for many consecutive years, offering tethered rides. We have renamed our balloon glow in his honor.
