When the plans for the Sellersburg Centennial festival were formulated in late 1989, it was the desire of the Economic Development Committee and the Sellersburg Town Board to accomplish three things:
1) Celebrate the 100th birthday of the Town of Sellersburg
2) Showcase the pleasures and advantages of living in a small town
3) Celebrate pride in our community.
We still take pride in our community over 30 years later. The birthday celebration was such a great success that the initial Centennial Committee decided to turn the festival into an annual event. Thus, Sellersburg Celebrates! was born! As our festival grew, it became apparent that it would soon need a new home. As plans were made for the Silver Creek Township Park, the concept of holding the festival in that location was always at hand.

Our contributors have been so faithful and generous over the years in helping us to carry out our goal of providing a high quality family event. Without your valuable support the festival could not continue to provide the variety of activities that make up each year’s celebration.

This year’s festival will be held on August 26th, 27th and 28th at Silver Creek Township Park on North Fern Street. As you are aware, events like Sellersburg Celebrates! require substantial effort and resources. Our success is guaranteed because of the generous gifts of our contributors and the willingness of volunteers to serve on the planning committee and also work during the festival. By putting all our efforts together, we will celebrate coming together as a community!
